As Community Pastor, I have the desire to see our city transformed by the love of Christ as we build His Kingdom through serving families and community.
Every life is valuable. All were created with a plan and a purpose in mind—each with a unique destiny that only they can fulfill. But we were not created to do life alone. Jesus is the strand that binds us together and causes us to give account for the hope that resides within us. As we value the interests of others over our own through serving, encouraging, connecting and empowering, we see hope deferred become a tree of life.
It’s my joy to serve in a community that values sharing the goodness of God. Loving God and loving people…because He first loved us.

Interests & Favorites
I love spending time with my family and doing what my grandsons like to do, which includes laughter, playing games, going to a movie, the park, the zoo and Disneyland. I love the beauty of the mountains and the calming of the sea. I like to read anything on the life or the journey of some of my heroes, such as Rees Howell’s Intercessor, Redigging the Wells by Lou Engle and The Life of Aimee Simple McPherson.
My favorite sports team is the Dallas Cowboys. I have many fond memories of going home to my family in Texas and watching a game with my dad. I also like the Redskins because I got to attend the Super Bowl the year they won playing at the Rose Bowl.
Fun Fact
I had a pet raccoon who would escape at night through the swamp cooler and wait at the door in the morning for someone to let him back in for breakfast. If you didn’t give him a water bowl to wash his food in, he would leave it, climb onto the table, pick something from your plate and then wash it in your water glass.
Favorite Passages
Philippians 2:1-11 (NIV) & Matthew 5:14-16 (MSG):
“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”
