Gwen Gibson

I serve as the Pastor for the HOPE CENTER—it’s the place at HRock where we encourage and offer hope for those struggling through the tough places of life. It is my joy to help others discover the freedom they long for; you know, that wonderful place of being comfortable in your own skin, of knowing who you are and really knowing how much you are loved by God. I love to see people discover the nature and character of God that changes the way they live.

Personal Background

I grew up living all over the western United States. I have been known to say that I’ve seen most of America through a car window. As a military brat, I moved homes and states every few years of my early life. Eventually we ended up in California, where my family now resides. For much of my life and career, I worked in theater, some acting, but mostly stage production and theater management.

Now I pursue a different passion. I rededicated my life to Jesus at 30 after years of struggle with many painful issues and life choices. The journey of life and healing that I pursued is one that I draw on to impart hope for healing to others. I have discovered a God who heals, and laughs, and loves greatly. I’ve enjoyed the pursuit of Him in my life and love to share this hope with others.

Educational Background

I received a B.A. in Dramatic Art from the University of California, Davis; a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary; and a few ministry certificates from various courses in inner healing.

Interests and Favorites

I enjoy the outdoors and have been to many of the national parks in the U.S.A.: Yosemite, Sequoia, Yellowstone, Zion, Bryce and Grand Teton. This gives me an opportunity to enjoy my other favorite hobby, which is photography. While I read quite a bit, I read non-fiction in my area of interest.

Fun Fact

I actually won a drawing for a free one-week round trip to London, all expenses paid because my friend dropped my name in the drawing box at the store—now that’s a great friend.
