So far in this series, I have been looking at the wonderful truth that God is our Father and some of the ways that we can overcome the barriers that stop us from being connected to Him as His sons and daughters.
But there is one more pressing question that I must address: What kind of Father is God? This is an important question to answer if we are going to replace the lies we have believed about God the Father with the experience of His glorious truths.
Jesus told His disciples that whoever had seen Him had seen the Father (John 14:9). The writer of Hebrews declared that Jesus is the exact representation (imprint) of the Father (Heb. 1:3). In other words, if you want to know what the Father is like, look to Jesus and you will see. Or as someone recently tweeted, “Jesus is God’s selfie!”
