Where Are the Radicals?

Pastor Greg issues a call to those who will lead radically

Many people have hailed the Toronto Outpouring as a great move of God’s Spirit. Yet we have come to recognize this as a precursor to something even greater.

“In the 20th anniversary celebration [of the Toronto Outpouring] and in several of the meetings over the following week, one of the recurring themes that continued to emerge is that there is a huge tsunami wave of revival approaching,” writes Jennifer Miskov in Charisma Magazine.

There’s an old saying, “If we do what we have always done, we will get what we have always gotten.” Can we get to a tsunami wave of revival by doing what we are doing now? What if we did more of what we are doing now? What if we did what we are doing now but just better? Would we create a tsunami wave of revival?

Two internationally recognized senior pastors would probably say “no” to each of those questions. Dick Westerhof is the leader of an apostolic network, while his wife, Dr. Arleen Westerhof, is a leader of a prophetic council. Here is what they have to say about the times in which we are now living:

“In the Third Apostolic Reformation, God is restoring the truth that apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are meant to equip believers for the works of service (Eph. 4:11-12). … No longer will it just be ‘the anointed man or woman of God’ who gets to minister. All of God’s saints get to participate in God’s Kingdom. This is going to require a radical change in how apostolic leaders think and act. Making this change, however, is imperative. If we do not, we will not see the Kingdom of God manifesting in and transforming our nations as God intended” (emphasis added; read more here).

Bringing about a tsunami wave of revival will require radical change by those of us who call ourselves leaders. Are we ready to be radical?
